Mark Wallace
Director of Operations

Mark is a green industry professional with over 30 years experience. He earned his B.S. in Natural Science from the University of Pittsburgh. His industry experience is in both the for profit and not for profit fields. As a small business owner for over 10 years he provided landscape design/build consulting services to residential and commercial clients. In addition, he was employed as a General Manager for a local retail nursery/garden center & design/build landscape construction company. For 4 years Mr. Wallace was a program Director for Western Pennsylvania Conservancy Community Conservation program with a focus on community green space evaluation, design/build, and conservation/horticulture education.

Laurie Follweiler

Laurie has over 15 years of experience in the green industry. She earned a B.S. degree in Landscape Contracting with a minor in Horticulture from Penn State University as well as a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from Chatham University. Through work in landscape maintenance and management, horticulture, and design, she’s developed a broad understanding and appreciation for how plants influence our lives and enhance the well-being of our communities.

Areas of specific interest are biophilia, sustainable and responsible growing, native plant communities, and horticulture therapy.

Carol Kenney Martin
Sales Representative

Carol has been a member of the DMC team for over 14 years. Carol is available to discuss our current products, opening a wholesale account, fundraiser opportunities, contract growing and more.

Kerry Katz
Administrative Assistant

Kerry joined the Drew Mathieson Center team in 2014. In addition to assisting in daily operations, she plays an integral part in the planning and development of the DMC’s youth programming and functions as the organization’s webmaster, graphic designer, and photographer. Kerry enjoys using her talents to share her interests in urban gardening, healthy food and cooking, native wildlife, the outdoors, visual arts, and reading with the local community through her work at the DMC and volunteering efforts local organizations.

Her first introduction to Manchester Bidwell Corporation was as an award winner at MCG Youth & Arts’ 2009 All City Arts Showcase.

Valerie Morgan
Greenhouse Technician

Valerie has been with the DMC team for over two years. Her passion for horticulture stems from her upbringing in a retail nursery as well as her two years as an agriculture volunteer in Peace Corps Zambia. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biology from The Ohio State University.
